Hello Lovelies! Happy Mid week!

The whole of last two months I have been posting a lot of outfits and thought it would be a great to do a tag post to break the monotony. I bumped across this really interesting beauty tag in Wea’s Beauty Blog and loved the questions. My posts are usually based on fashion and beauty posts are pretty rare. Thus answering 40 Beauty Questions would be wonderful to give you a glimpse of my beauty regime.

Read on :)

SKIN CARE

1. How many times do you wash your face daily?
Several times during summer as I live in a very hot and humid place, and 2 times a day during winter.

2. What skin type do you have?
I have a combination skin. It gets very oily and sometimes acne prone in hot and humid months and stays normal to dry in winters.

3. What is your current facial wash?
I love Neutrogena products and am currently using Oil-free acne wash from Neutrogena that really suits my skin.

4. Do you exfoliate?
I exfoliate 2-3 times a week.

5. What brand do you use?
Again Neutrogena! I use Blackhead eliminating daily scrub from Neutrogena though I don’t have blackheads  :)

6. What moisturizer do you use?
Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer for combination skin

7. Do you have freckles?
Very few but they are hardly noticeable! :)

8. Do you use eye cream?
Yes, I use a Neutrogena Eye cream regularly every-night

9. Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
I do have a acne prone skin but I use a lot of care to keep it acne free. Good diet, proper sleep and right skincare really helps keeping acne at bay.

10. Did you ever have to use Pro-Activ?
I have never used Pro-Active so far

MAKE-UP

11. What foundation do you use?
I got the perfect shade in Revlon Photo ready and have been sticking to it for more than 2 years now.

12. How about concealer?
My Concealer is from Revlon Photo ready again which is complimentary to my foundation shade.

13. Do you know your undertone color?
I think its yellowish!! Not sure!! :P

14. What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I think they look great but unfortunately I haven’t perfected the art of using them without looking tacky!

15. Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
I don’t use Mascara regularly so they can last me a lifetime. But I change them every year. I think 3 months is way too early! :)

16. What brand of mascara do you use?
Currently using The Body Shop but considering other brands as well. Suggestions welcome! :)

17. Sephora or MAC?
MAC. Haven’t used Sephora yet.

18. Do you have a MAC Pro-Card?
No. Though I love the brand, I haven’t yet brought anything from MAC, so don’t have any cards.

19. What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?
Make up brushes and puff to dust on compact powder.

20. Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?
I have a The Body Shop primer that I use all over my face including the eye area. Foundation over primer works well too.

21. For the face?
The same The Body Shop primer on my face too.

22. What is your favorite eyeshadow (color/shade)?
Its a difficult question because I keep changing my eye shadow very often and I have a lot of favorites. Some favorites are gold, copper and black shades.

23. Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I use both. The pencil eyeliner is mostly for quick applications on the go.

24. How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
I am pretty careful with eye make up application, so such accidents have luckily never happened to me.

25. Do you use mineral makeup?
I have heard a lot about them but haven’t really tried any myself. Would love to try some in the near future though.

26. What is your favorite lipstick?
Currently loving Rum Sheen from Revlon which is great for everyday use.

27. How about lip gloss?
I don’t use lip gloss. Instead Maybelline Babylips lip balm is my favorite whenever I want to skip Lipstick. I even use it under my regular lip colors. It helps moisturize the lips and acts as a good base for lipsticks.

28. What is your favorite blush to use?
My current favorite brands are Colorbar and an Indian brand called Lakme.

29. Do you buy makeup on eBay?
Never. I love to try on make up before buying them, so I never shop make-up products online.

30. Do you like drugstore makeup?
I mostly buy nail colors from drugstores.

31. Did you ever consider taking makeup classes?
I do check online tutorials on make-up but have never considered taking classes for it.

32. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
No I am not. I am quite sure about what looks good on me and can apply them well :)

33. Name a makeup crime that you hate?
Patchy foundation and foundation that does not match the skin tone. It looks ghastly!

34. Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I experiment with both. It depends on the occasion. However, I never use nude lip colors, they don’t suit my skin tone.

35. Which celebrity always has great makeup?
Emma Watson always looks flawless in make-up.

36. If you could leave the house using ONE makeup item, what would you use?
A pencil eyeliner.

37. Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Yes I definitely can! :)

38. Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
I definitely look better in make-up. Everybody does! But I do have the confidence to walk without any make-up on too.

39. In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
I personally love Revlon,L’Oreal and Colorbar. I am yet to try out more expensive make-up brands. My opinion might change after that! :)

40. What do you think of makeup?
Make-up is great to enhance natural beauty, but one shouldn’t become a slave to it. Every girl is beautiful in her own way.

Thank God its Friday, right?

How has been your week? As for me, I am having a vacation in my hometown and really enjoying myself. Having traditional home cooked food, reuniting with my cute pets and taking long walks amidst nature are some of the delightful experiences of my vacation.

Today I went on a long walk into the tea gardens and it was lovely, refreshing and green! The outfit that seemed perfect for the occassion was obviously a mix of something casual and comfortable. I picked this strappy white top and a pair of blue jeggings to feel comfy and beat the heat and humidity. Flats were of course the chosen footwear as I knew I would be walking a lot. I dressed up the look with a printed blue scarf, my all time favorite yellow clutch and silver colored earrings.

Do let me know how do you like my casual, comfortable and dressy look of today. Also don’t forget to follow me on my social networking sites in the links given below (if you aren’t doing it already) as I will be sharing a lot of snaps of my vacation in them :)

Enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you next week with brand new posts.

Take Care!! :)

Stripes is a classic pattern and I am so much in love with it. I don’t think I own as many stripes as I would love to, but I am on the process of updating my wardrobe! :)

This bodycon dress form Mango is from the last season and it has a very good stretch fabric to provide great fit. Bodycon dresses demand a good body shape, but the horizontal stripes of this dress is well capable in camouflaging a lot of unwanted bulges ;) However, I would like to think I am in pretty good shape as I have been religiously following my cardio workout routine and can’t wait to get into all the lovely summer dresses and crop tops :)

Since I have been wearing a lot of colors (as I always do), I decided to take a mini break from it and go all black and white with this look. Couldn’t avoid the red nails though :) The puffed sleeve crop blazer was perfect to dress up this look.

I hope you enjoyed the black and white striped look of the day! Do let me know your comments and questions on this look.

Enjoy your Monday and have a great week ahead!!

Nail Art : Spring Foliage

nail art, spring/summer 2014 nail trend, beauty, fashion, spring nail art, fashion blogger

Here is a nail art I totally love on my nails for Spring! Of late I have been getting a lot of nail art ideas and will be posting all of them in the next few weeks. If you love to get creative with your nails, don’t forget to check back for a new nail art every week!

For this nail art I picked three of my favorite Spring nail colors-mustard yellow, mint and white. Scroll down for a step by step tutorial to  achieve this look :

I painted my nails with a bright mustard yellow nail color. The vibrancy of this color acted as a great base to paint on the tiny detailing. I applied three coats of nail paint for a very opaque effect.

I used a Mint color to draw tiny leaves on the mustard yellow background. I find it most comfortable to use a toothpick to draw the intricate designs on nails. You can, however, use whatever tool you are comfortable with.

In the next step I used white nail paint to draw few more tiny leaves in between the mint ones.

And bingo!! My Spring Nail art is ready! Isn’t it extremely simple and equally cute! It just took me half an hour to finish this and most of it was the drying time for the nail paints. I have used fast drying nail paints shopped locally from Indian beauty brands and they are often as good as some of the international brands for half the price! :)

Hope you enjoyed my nail art tutorial. Don’t forget to share you photos and experiences if you decide to try this nail art at home :)

Enjoy your Friday and the weekend! See you all net week some more interesting posts! :)

Today is the day when I have reached another milestone in blogging. When I started “Little book of fashion” about a year back, it was difficult for me to comprehend that one day my blog will be followed by 1000 wonderful readers. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

When I first took my baby steps in fashion blogging I was honestly awestruck after seeing so many fantastic blogs and often wondered if it is even worth a try. I had my good share of doubts but it seems my inherent desire to share my best with my readers persevered. That was one of the best decisions of my life as I find myself today in the midst of wonderful readers who have really made by experience worthwhile.

Today, it will not be wrong to say that blogging has gotten into my blood and it is my constant endeavour to the share the best with my readers. The level of satisfaction and motivation that I derive from every “like” and every “comment” cannot be expressed in mere words. It is nothing but your encouragement and appreciation that has helped me create posts, that I am really proud of myself. Little book of fashion also brought me closer to many fantastic fellow bloggers who always inspires me to excel even further and notwithstanding; they have become my fried, philosopher and source for inspiration.

Today, I would like to take this opportunity to say four words from deep within my heart; “THANK YOU VERY MUCH”. I am all geared up to move on and create more magic and it is a promise that things are going to get even better from here. I sincerely hope that you will continue to shower all the love and attention, without which my blog will have no meaning what so ever.

So once again, thanks a ton for being so appreciative and kind.

I love you all…I truly do!!!

Please extend your love and support by connecting with me in my social networking sites too!

It’s Friday and I am really looking forward to have some fun this weekend! The whole week had been dull and full of work and I really can’t wait for it to get over! Talking of fun, what is your favorite outfit to have fun in? For me it has to be a jumpsuit. They are stylish, they are comfortable and they come in such variety that you are bound to find one for every occasion- work or play!

This black jumpsuit that I am wearing was just perfect for an evening out and I am sure I can wear it as a day wear too. I kept a classic black and red color combination and wore heels to add some subtle glamor to the look. The natural golden light was really  helpful and we are delighted to get some good photographs! :)

Thanks for reading and I am looking forward to your thoughts, questions or feedback on my outfit of the day!

Have a wonderful weekend!! :)

It’s been little more than a year since I started this blog and if ever I look back not only do I see my blog growing, I also see myself changing consistently along with my blog too. For instance, ever since I started blogging, I have become more aware of fashion trends, more confident posing in front of the camera and definitely more experimental with my style. I have mentioned in few of my previous posts that I have started wearing colors that I never used to and today I actually took the plunge in getting experimental with everything about this look. My hair, my make up and the expressions are things that I am trying out for the first time and I am really excited about posting this look!

I am eagerly looking forward to hear your thoughts on my look of today and also would love to hear if your blog has bought in any positive changes in your life!! So do drop in your comments and don’t forget to give me a follow in my social networking sites before you leave :) Links given below!!
