This linen shirt dress from Mango is one of my favorite summer purchases! My style is quite easy going and a shirt dress perfectly compliments my sense of style. I usually add some bright colors to my outfit, even if it is just a pop of red on the nails, but lately I am loving the pastel and neutral color palettes a lot too. That is why I always say my style is also very versatile as I simply can’t stick to a particular type of color/pattern/clothes for long. I feel the need to keep switching and trying out new things every other day! I guess that’s a pretty good thing though! :)

Coming back to my outfit of the day, I worked my look around earthy colors teaming my off-white shirt dress with a brown belt, copper gladiators, pastel bag and antique colored jewellery.

How do you like my outfit today? Do you think the neutral colors suit me or should I stick to my regular brights? Do you have a specific style or are you as versatile as me when it comes to fashion? Phew…a lot of questions, right? But I would love to have a discussion with my fashion savvy readers on all these topics! :) So do pour in your thoughts on the comment section below!! :)

Chambray is one of the best summer fabrics because of its light-weight hand-feel. More so if its stitched into a jumpsuit! I am sure majority of my readers will agree on jumpsuits being one of the most comfortable and stylish summer attires! I personally love jumpsuits not just for summer but all year round. My need to mix style with comfort is so well served by a cute pair of jumpsuit, like this one!

Today’s look is all about being easy going and summer ready! Well, to be honest, all my looks pretty much fall under this same category! :) I wore this jumpsuit with a pair of flat shoes (perfect for a walk around the neighborhood) and silver colored jewellery collected from my several trips to Indian flea markets! I love the light blue and white color combination that is so soothing on a hot summer evening.

Jumpsuit is definitely my favorite summer wear. Would love to know what’s your go-to summer outfit and why? Do pour in your comments and do give me a follow in social media before you leave! Links are given below :)

Finally the weather was favorable enough to do an outfit shoot! I forever wanted to wear this summer dress and shoes combo from my favorite brands Mango and Zara, but had to keep postponing this photo shoot due to rain and poor natural light.
Pretty sundresses are my go-to summer wear and have been wearing a lot of them in Spring/Summer 2014. The best thing about sun dresses are that they are cute, comfortable and can be dressed up or down according to the occasion! I chose to keep it simple and wore this printed dress from Mango with a pair of red high heeled pumps from Zara and a copper beaded long necklace. This is a perfect attire for summer evenings and can be teamed with a denim or leather jacket when it gets slightly chilly.
How do you like my look of the day and would love to hear from you about your go-to summer outfits! Do drop in your comments!

There are two things new about this look post. Firstly, I have worn a neutral colored outfit with not even a pop of red or yellow on my nails! If you are a regular reader of my blog you’ll notice that this is quite unusual as I cannot let go off bright colors entirely. Secondly, this is the first time I am wearing a shrug. I think shrugs are a great cover up for slightly chilly summer days and a stylish way to add an extra layer to your outfit. Its just that I simply could not relate myself to a shrug for some strange reason! But this cute off-white shrug from forever 21 caught my attention and I thought to myself if I want to start wearing shrug this has to be the my first one! :)
Since this shrug is quite pretty I wanted to add a bit of edge to the look by wearing a pair of boyfriend jeans and to balance the look, teamed it with a off white silk crop top.
Its fun to break free of your normal way of dressing and experiment with colors and looks you haven’t tried before. I am really glad I started this blog that gave me the confidence to explore beyond my comfort zone! Thanks for reading and as always I would love to hear your thoughts on my look!

Beauty Au Naturel

A recent discussion in Twitter on beauty tips and products prompted me to write this post. I have quite a few favorites from the world of beauty products but I greatly believe in sticking to some tried and tested natural ingredients for skin and hair care, and trust me they are absolutely wonderful! Not only are they chemical and side effect free, they are most often as effective as over the counter and high end beauty products found in the market!
Let me share some of the natural ingredients I absolutely swear by to have tremendous beneficial effects on your skin and hair!

1. Aloe Vera :

Aloe Vera, beauty, beauty tips, skincare tips, beauty blogger, fashion blogger, Skincare at home, skincare, fashion blogger, home made face pack

Aloe Vera has amazing healing properties and the best part is that you can easily grow it in your kitchen garden. It works wonders on my acne prone and sensitive skin and any pigmentation and blemishes just fade away with time. Aloe Vera is soothing and works well on sun burns and minor skin abrasions too!
I just slice open an Aloe Vera leaf length-wise and religiously apply the gel onto my face, neck or any parts of the body I please. I leave it on for about 20 minutes and wash it off.
Aloe Vera juice, taken orally, has amazing health benefits as well. It is a great way to detox your system and it also aids in digestion. However, I haven’t yet started drinking Aloe Vera juice yet, but plan to do so pretty soon! :)

2. Sandalwood Powder :

Sandalwood, beauty, beauty tips, skincare tips, beauty blogger, fashion blogger, Skincare at home, skincare, fashion blogger, home made face pack

Sandalwood is my life saver! Not only am I addicted to the relaxing and soothing fragrance of sandalwood (my room freshener, hand wash, body oil and pretty much everything is in sandal wood fragrance!), its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory and astringent properties works wonders on my skin. Sandalwood suits all skin types and it is known to reduce pimples, soothes dry areas of the skin and its refreshing scent makes it an essential aromatic oil.
I use a sandal wood face pack once a week that nourishes my skin and keep it healthy and acne free. I mix sandal wood powder with rose water to make a thick paste, apply it on my face and neck for about 20 minutes and wash it off with cold water. I also take a body massage with sandalwood oil once in a while and its aromatic oil is extremely relaxing and gives almost a spa like experience at home!

3. Honey :

Honey, beauty, beauty tips, skincare tips, beauty blogger, fashion blogger, Skincare at home, skincare, fashion blogger, home made face pack

I am sure all of you are quite aware of the goodness of honey for health and beauty. Honey has anti-aging and anti-microbial properties and is also an excellent moisturizer. Needless to say, honey is one of the essential ingredients in my kitchen. It is healthy, tasty and if used regularly, can give extra ordinary results to maintain a healthy skin.
I start my day with a table spoon of honey mixed in green tea to detoxify. I often substitute sugar with  honey on many hot and cold beverages and it really boosts energy into the system! I also create home made face packs by mixing honey with lemon and gram flour and apply the pack on my face for about 20 minutes or till it dries. This pack works as a scrub, hydrates the skin and keeps it blemish free.

4. Neem (Indian Lilac) :

Neem, beauty, beauty tips, skincare tips, beauty blogger, fashion blogger, Skincare at home, skincare, fashion blogger, home made face pack

For any kind of skin inflammation, black heads and sensitivity, neem leaves are a natural substitute to all  over-the-counter anti- bacterial; anti- parasitic, anti- fungal, anti-inflammatory and analgesic products! ‘Neem’ is the Indian name for ‘Azadirachta Indica’, commonly known as ‘Indian Lilac’ with tremendous skin care benefits.
A face pack of neem paste mixed with rose water and/or sandalwood powder is excellent for any kind of skin eruptions. Instead of using a pimple cream I just rub a few neem leaves and use the juice on the area. it takes the same amount of time to clear an acne as a cream but minus all the harsh chemicals. It also controls excess oil on the skin and acts as a great astringent specially during the hot and humid summer months.

5. Multani Mitti or Fuller’s Earth :

Fuller's Earth, multani mitti, beauty, beauty tips, skincare tips, beauty blogger, fashion blogger, Skincare at home, skincare, fashion blogger, home made face pack

Multani Mitti, an Indian name for ‘Fuller’s Earth’ is one of the key ingredients in lots of face packs found in the market. Multani Mitti has oil absorbing properties and works wonders on my combination skin type. It acts as a wonderful scrub, unclog pores and gives visibly soft and supple skin right after a single use.
I mix a bit of powdered multani mitti with just enough rose water to make a thick paste and apply on my face. I do not keep it for too long as it dries my skin out way too much. 10-15 minutes is more than enough to show results. It improves complexion and gives a radiant skin in minutes.

I consider myself really lucky to have access to these natural ingredients and they are definitely good for my skin! The biggest plus point is that they are 100% natural and costs little to no money! They have absolutely no side effects and have never disappointed me in all these years! :)

Disclaimer: The results of these ingredients may vary from person to person and although they are absolutely natural and safe, please do consult your beautician to be sure they suit your skin type and condition. All the above views are based on the effects I have seen on my own skin only!! ;)

Before leaving I wish all my American readers a very Happy 4th of July and a equally happy Friday to the rest of the world!

Enjoy your weekend and stay safe!

Love you all! :)

It was a sunny day and I wanted to look and feel ultra feminine. What better than a lovely flowy maxi skirt to achieve a feminine look? I chose to go monochrome by teaming this white maxi skirt with my black & white body con dress from Mango (worn as a top) and silver jeweleries to compliment the look. I kept the jewelery simple so that the outfit can get all the attention it deserves! Could not help adding a pop of red on my nails though! :)

We did this photo shoot on the terrace as I knew this outfit would look great against the blue sky as the backdrop. The natural light and the breeze helped create some dramatic shots for this post! I hope you liked this post as much as I loved shooting it for you! :)

Thanks for reading!! :)

How to Style a Basic Denim shirt?

A denim shirt is not only one of the key fashion items for Summer 2014, it is also a wardrobe staple for every season. There is nothing more comfortable, versatile and classy like a Denim shirt. It is in fact like a blank canvas to create interesting outfit combinations using season’s most trendy pieces.

This post is all about different ways of styling a basic denim shirt! I have picked different items from my favorite brands that are very much in trend  and have compiled 5 interesting ways to wear a staple denim shirt. I love all the looks myself and I am sure you will find at least one (or all) of these looks wearable and in tune with your personal style too! :)

1. Sunday Brunch :

Denim Shirt, Style Tips, Fashion Tips, Spring Summer 2014 Fashion Trends, Fashion, Style, Fashion Blogger, Asos, Topshop, Zara, Mango Fashion, Forever New, Forever 21, Banana Republic, River Island, Gap, H&M, Pepe Jeans

For a stylish yet laid back look, wear your denim shirt with a pair of wide-legged high waist trousers in a bright color! I love these red trousers from Zara with the button detailing (that also has a slimming effect)! A pair of statement sunglasses, statement necklace and high heels perfectly complements the look. Wear this outfit for a Sunday Brunch kinda occasion and you are sure to feel fashionable and leave quite an impression!

2. A Walk In the Beach :

Denim Shirt, Style Tips, Fashion Tips, Spring Summer 2014 Fashion Trends, Fashion, Style, Fashion Blogger, Asos, Topshop, Zara, Mango Fashion, Forever New, Forever 21, Banana Republic, River Island, Gap, H&M, Pepe Jeans

This is a perfect summer day attire for a walk in the beach or for that matter anywhere in the city. Replace your denim jacket with a denim shirt (which is a lot lighter and great for summer) and wear it as a cover up with a maxi dress. Accessories like a cute pair of flats, straw hat, colorful accessories, mirror sunglasses and a slim belt completes this lovely summer look.

3. Girls Day Out :

Denim Shirt, Style Tips, Fashion Tips, Spring Summer 2014 Fashion Trends, Fashion, Style, Fashion Blogger, Asos, Topshop, Zara, Mango Fashion, Forever New, Forever 21, Banana Republic, River Island, Gap, H&M, Pepe Jeans

Love all things sweet and girly? A pretty floral skirt is your thing! Wear your denim shirt with a floral midi skirt and high heeled pumps for a beautiful, feminine look. Add more flowers with a floral necklace and this 3D floral clutch from Asos and you are ready to rock the day out with your girls!

4. Explore the City :

Denim Shirt, Style Tips, Fashion Tips, Spring Summer 2014 Fashion Trends, Fashion, Style, Fashion Blogger, Asos, Topshop, Zara, Mango Fashion, Forever New, Forever 21, Banana Republic, River Island, Gap, H&M, Pepe Jeans

A totally easy going outfit to walk around sight seeing. Whether you are visiting an exotic location or just feeling a bit tourist-y in your own city, this look is just the right thing to feel comfortable and yet stay in style!  Do the ‘denim-on-denim’ with these dungarees from H&M, Zara flats and a quirky bohemian backpack. Add a straw hat, statement sunglasses and necklace and you will be the most stylish tourist ever! :)

5. Go Biking :

Denim Shirt, Style Tips, Fashion Tips, Spring Summer 2014 Fashion Trends, Fashion, Style, Fashion Blogger, Asos, Topshop, Zara, Mango Fashion, Forever New, Forever 21, Banana Republic, River Island, Gap, H&M, Pepe Jeans

If your style is more towards being edgy and chic, rock this black leather look! Wear your denim shirt with a pair of black skinny jeans, a leather biker jacket and high heeled ankle boots for a smart biker chic look. Throw on some metal jeweleries and mirrored aviators and walk out in style.

How do you like these 5 ways of styling your classic Denim Shirt and which one of these is your favorite? Don’t forget to pour in your thoughts about this post and also follow me on social media before you leave! ;)

Have a great Weekend!! See you all next week with some more interesting posts!

Have Fun!! :)

Who doesn’t love a cute little denim mini skirt for summer? And who doesn’t love a pop of color to spice it up? I do! :)

So here is my look of the day wearing a distressed denim mini skirt, a bright red top with jeweled collar and my all time favorite red heels that you might have seen in quite a few of my look posts by now! The occasion is of course a lovely summer evening with golden sun and cool breeze!

Bright colors have always been my favorites, but of late I have found the ‘edgy’ look getting a special corner in the style conscious part of my heart! So an opportunity to combine brights with a bit of edge (the distressed denim skirt in this post) should never be missed!

I hope you enjoyed my look today and as always I am eagerly looking forward to hear your thoughts and comments! And before I leave a gentle reminder to give me a quick follow in social media as it breaks my heart to see you missing any of my posts!

Love you all and see you soon! :)
